Introducing Daria
I joined the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership team in April 2020 after ten years as a research ecologist at the British Trust for Ornithology. This followed my PhD studying the role of disease in the decline of house sparrows in London.
My background is in large-scale data modelling and survey organisation at local and national levels. I’ve worked on projects focusing on urbanisation, habitat fragmentation and population trends. A very keen bird-watcher and bird-ringing trainer, I have a passion for nature conservation and science communication, especially to the younger generations.
I’m very much looking forward to working as part of the team, helping to promote public enjoyment and conservation of our beautiful local heaths!
