Where you’ll find it…
Find the free car park at the top of Papermill Avenue, Hook RG27 9QU. SU 73435 55011. What3Words: alien.acids.shortcuts. It’s signposted off the A30 London Road.
N.B. We’ve given the nearest postcode, but recommend using the links to look up the exact location. The centre of a postcode may be up to half a mile from your destination.
What you’ll find there…
If you haven’t been before, you’ll be delighted to find these tucked away meadows on the banks of the crystal clear River Whitewater. The perfect place for a tranquil dog walk, away from busy roads and with opportunities for a drink and a cooling dip in the river.
The children’s play area shown in the gallery opened in September 2023 and includes a zip line, climbing frames, slides, seesaw, roundabout, trampoline, sensory panels and much more. When we visited it soon after opening, it was already a big hit with local children. You’ll find it at What3Words: schooling.bolsters.tube, in the section of the meadows that lies close to the Crooked Billet pub.
We hope you enjoy discovering this little gem.
If you’d like to explore further, you can also cross the busy A30 at the Crooked Billet pub and visit Bassetts Mead. Well worth the effort of crossing the road.
