What you’ll find there…
Blackwater Valley Countryside do a fine job of maintaining this beautifully laid out woodland with surfaced paths, signed trails and wonderful, carved information boards. They also ‘invest’ in the woodland’s future with lots of work to conserve its history and wildlife. If you fancy getting involved, the Southwood Woodland Improvement Group get together on the fourth Sunday of every month at 10:00am. Meet at the Kennels Lane entrance and see what’s going on. All welcome. Tools and training provided.
If you just want to visit occasionally, our tip is to visit this much-loved woodland around the end of April, when the Bluebells and other woodland flowers are at their best.
