Guided Walk: Pirbright Heathland Safari
30th July @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Event Navigation
Join Surrey Heathland Partnership Project Officer, Tasha Feddery, for a gentle amble around the various heathlands surrounding the village of Pirbright, starting and finishing at the village Green.
Come and meet your heathland neighbours (aka: the rare plants & animals!) that call this area home, learn about the great efforts undertaken by local volunteers and how you can get involved to help protect it for the future. We will hopefully have a chance to meet some of our conservation grazing animals out on site too!
4-5 miles. Approx 2 hour walk.
Some undulating terrain so sturdy footwear is recommended. Children welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
*** The walk is going ahead today but we’ll finish earlier and we’ll keep to the shadiest route. We recommend using plenty of sunscreen, wearing a hat and bringing lots of water with you. ***
FIND US: The walk will start at 10:30am from the public car park on Avenue De Cagny (opposite the cricket pitch), Pirbright Green, Pirbright GU24. What3Words: trash.waddled.race. Free parking available.
FREE. Suitable for all ages and anyone able to negotiate heathland paths. Not suitable for pushchairs or mobility scooters. Assistance dogs only please (due to restriction in Brookwood Cemetery).
NO BOOKING REQUIRED! Just turn up at the meeting point a few minutes before 10:30am. For more info, contact: tasha.feddery@surreycc.gov.uk, tel: 07964 864 295.
